We have been fortunate to have two books written about the Hamner. Our first in this "series" was written by Ken Ericksen (ET3 1953-56) and published in the fall of 2022.

After editing that book and receiving all of the Hamner historian's records, our secretary decided to produce the sequel using the thousands of photographs and documents covering the thirty-four years of the Hamner and her crew's life. "An American Destroyer: USS Hamner History in Photographs" is the result.

All profits from BOTH of these books go to the USS Hamner DD-781 Association Inc to assist in their mission to preserve the memories of the Hamner and her crew.
